Channel Development Manager

Job Description and Requirements

InPhonex is six-year-old, profitable and growing Internet Telephony Service Provider based in Miami. We provide digital telephony products and services to businesses and consumers -- primarily through our reseller channel.  As a result of this focus on the channel, InPhonex has developed a set of offerings tailored to the needs of resellers under VARphonex.  We’re looking for creative people with world-class skills who thrive in an energetic setting and are passionate about their lives and their work.

We are seeking an experienced, motivated Channel Development Manager who is passionate about evangelizing emerging technology.  This position will identify, recruit, onboard and develop VARphonex' resellers.  You will report to the Chief Sales Officer and be responsible for recruitment and initial development of VARphonex reseller partners.  This is an individual contributor position that has the potential to mature with the channel into a management role.  The world-class channel reseller organization that you help to develop will be the vehicle for the majority of VARphonex' sales growth in the coming years. You will be expected to identify the appropriate data and telephony resellers, attract their interest in VARphonex' reseller program, administer the necessary steps to onboard the resellers, and manage their total “launch to success” timeline through their first sales and revenue production with VARphonex.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a prospect base of channel partners including telephony hardware and service resellers, data vendors, ISPs, and other appropriate strategic resellers
  • Develop expertise in Channel Development Tools including initial contact scripts, follow up communications, and business process and margin importance for resellers
  • Deliver reseller messaging and awareness to channel partner prospects through various communication vehicles such as email blasts, phone call prospecting, and seminars
  • Demonstrate product and competitive advantages of the solution via webinar and onsite presentations
  • Recruit new resellers at the rate of approximately 8 per month
  • Complete Launch Track (on-boarding) with each new reseller, bringing them to sales success of $5,000 within 90 days of signing
  • Work closely in a cross-functional capacity with Account Managers to turnover successful resellers and introduce to AM

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with direct experience selling for a channel partner considered a plus
  • Experience with channel recruitment required
  • Channel Partner experience is highly desirable
  • Must have a proven record of exceeding established revenue quotas in channel development or via direct end-user sales
  • Proven industry contacts and relationships required
  • Small company experience along with fast-pace and high growth is highly desirable
  • Ability to effectively work independently as well as part of team
  • Must have strong working knowledge/experience in data and/or voice systems and technologies, such as knowledge of switches, routers, etc. Ideal candidates will possess experience in both data and voice solutions
  • Experience selling emerging technology and evangelizing emerging markets or products is required
  • Familiarity with the VoIP market and its competitive landscape required
  • Successful candidates will possess high energy, self-motivation, and require little guidance
  • Need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written skills; Strong creative problem solving abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
